Tools, not toys

The Weigle Information Commons and the Weingarten Learning Resources Center (VPUL) are offering a series of workshops this fall at WIC that will address how to take productivity principles from the analog world and apply them to using your iOS devices.

The 3 workshops, titled Time Management, Note Taking, and Research & Critical Thinking, will focus on some specific, pre-selected apps aimed at helping you get your work done, rather than spending time figuring out which app to use.  I don’t know about you, but this is exactly what I need right about this point in the semester as class and work demands start to grow and I fight to keep control of the items on my To Do list.  Have you seen those “Top 10 apps for Time Management” lists?  I don’t have TIME to try out 10 apps and figure out which one is the best–that’s why I was looking for time management apps to begin with!  A big thanks to WIC and Weingarten for going the extra mile and saving me the time and trouble.

Be sure to check out the workshop schedule and all of the details at the post on the PennWIC blog.
