Did you know that the Weigle Information Commons has 34 iPads available for faculty to reserve for class projects? WIC staff have been busy collaborating with folks for the past two years on all kinds of cool projects. Here’s the update:
Caitlin Shanley has compiled a great update on the first year’s report on classes and workshops taking advantage of the devices, which apps are in use, and some great recommendations for this and any other iPad-loaning program moving forward. Good stuff.
Demie Kurz (Co-Director of the Gender, Sexuality & Women’s Studies Program) shared her reflections on using iPads during in-class discussions.
Wow. Design students integrated two of our iPads into the Design of Contemporary Products: Smart Objects course – very cool!
Proving that you can teach an old book a new trick, English Professor Cathy Turner shares her experience using iPads to enrich the exploration of rare materials.
In addition to iPads, the Vitale Digital Media Lab in WIC has a nice collection of tablets so you can compare across platforms – just stop by!
